Les Turlupins

Les Turlupins

Starting at:

(aka "The Rascals") 1980. Color. 94 minutes. French language with English subtitles. Image quality: good. Young Bernard and his friend Didier both attend a Catholic boy's school in France during the Occupation. Things are pretty strict there, but fortunately for the boys, there's a nearby school for girls which has a few students that agree to a secret rendezvous with Bernard and Didier. Bernard meets and falls in love with Marie-Hélène (Pascale Rocard), who gives him an education that he wouldn't have received at the boy's school. Before Bernard gets to round the bases with Marie-Hélène, he must attend a funeral for his Grandfather. Bernard's relatives gather to pay their respects, including his two cute female cousins (played by Véronique Lindenberg and Laura Ferry), who sneak off with Bernard, and turn his frown upside down with a spirit-lifting game of show and tell. "Les Turlupins" is chock-full of adolescent hijinks, fantasies come true, cousin lovin', and nudity, and is a true coming of age classic. Highly recommended!

Contains nudity.
