1981. Color. 78 minutes. Czech language with English subtitles. Image quality: good.

While on an Elementary School field trip, mischievous friends Petr and Pavel sneak away from the rest of their classmates to go hang out in the city and do whatever they like. They wander into an old empty church and find some pipes from a dismantled organ lying around, which they assume to be discarded. When Petr and Pavel discover that the pipes can be played like whistles, they bring them back to school and give them to their friends as presents. It turns out that the church the boys snuck into was under renovation, and the pipes the took were valueable parts of an antique organ. When a teacher finds one of the pipes in Pavel's bag, he is accused of theft and told that he will be sent to reform school. Instead of moping about his misfortune, Pavel decides to throw a protest party at his house, complete with smoking, drinking, and girls from his class. The party gets off to a slow start, but eventually the young participants loosen up, and start dancing and flirting with each other. The rest of the evening however, doesn't go exactly as planned. Well made coming-of-age rarity from Czechoslovakia featuring a talented young cast which includes Libuse Heczková and Lucie Bártová. With English subtitles - a Doktorfroyd exclusive!
