CARNE 1991. Color. 38 minutes. French language with English subtitles. Image quality: good. "Carne" is the tale of a butcher who takes revenge on a man he wrongfully believes to have raped his autistic daughter. It is graphic, very brutal, and employs rapid cuts and a loud jarring soundtrack. WARNING: Viewers may be disturbed by the blood and violence in some scenes, which include a real live horse slaughter, and a man having a knife plunged into the back of his throat. 15 year old Blandine Lenoir plays the butcher's daughter. Winner of best short film at Cannes in 1991. Contains nudity.

...ya no puede caminar. 2001. Color. 14 minutes. Spanish language with English subtitles. Image quality: good. A child, Pacheco, has a phobia of small animals (insects, worms, lizards and so on). His father, in an attempt to help him get over his phobia, exposes him to a very unusual therapy: he makes him sleep with some of these animals closed in a jar and kept in the house. In this way, Pacheco slowly gets used to contact with the animals and is finally able to overcome his initial repugnance to the point of even feeling affection for them. When the new student at his school, a pretty girl named Irene (played by lovely 12 year old Miriam Giovanelli), becomes too friendly and inquisitive toward Pacheco, he decides to add her to his ever expanding collection of "friends". A very creepy fourteen minutes of film! Contains brief nudity.
