A man named Wilhelm embarks on a journey across Germany in order to find his voice as a writer. Introspective and seemingly without personality, he encounters a series of eccentric characters, including a beautiful and enigmatic actress, an old man who was an athlete in the 1936 Olympics, and his mute teen companion, Mignon. Thirteen year old Nastassja Kinski kicked off her controversial acting career with this, her first movie, featuring her first nude scene. Directed by Wim Wenders.
